LORD, my heart is heavy.
My body aches.
My spirit grieves.
Please, teach me how to just be in YOUR Presence.
And to rest.
YOU are all around me, to bless me, to restore me.
How can I breathe this in with every breath I take?
How can I rest with every move I make?
Please, help me to slow down.
Stop striving.
Stop trying so hard to try so hard.
Please, teach me how to hold to YOUR Promises, and trust YOU to hold to me.
These are difficult lessons to be learned, the way is hard.
BUT GOD, YOU are with me.
My hands are empty.
Please help me keep my fists uncurled.
Lifting my hands, my heart, my life, to YOU.
May the Light and Life, the Joy and the Peace, of YOUR Presence flow over me, like a warm blanket on a cold winter’s night.
The older I get, the more I desire YOU.
All the while wishing I had known these things many years ago.
LORD, lead me to YOU.
In JESUS’ NAME I cry out . . .
: Matthew 11:28-30 – Come to Me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you, and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy, and My burden is light.
- Please, teach me, and help me, to do this – come to YOU. Take YOUR yoke upon me. Learn from YOU. Oh to find YOUR rest for my soul.
: I Timothy 2:8 – I desire then that in every place the men should pray, lifting holy hands without anger or quarreling.
- LORD, teach me to pray. And to lift holy hands without anger or quarreling. Just to praise YOU – because YOU are worthy.
: Zechariah 1:3 – Therefore say to them, Thus declares the Lord of hosts: Return to me, says the Lord of hosts, and I will return to you, says the Lord of hosts.
- O LORD, teach me to return to YOU. Please, return to me. Moment by moment. Breath by breath.
