Carey & Lois Walker

Funeral services for Lois Marie Byars Walker, age 68, of Garland and formerly of Hopkins County, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday, May 1, 2009, at Tapp Funeral Home Chapel. Dr. Jimmy Henry will officiate.Burial will follow services in the Greenwood Cemetery with Matthew Peyton, Chris Byars, Jason Tully, James Griner, Johnny Walker and Charlie Walker serving as pallbearers.Visitation will be from 6-7 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home.Mrs. Walker passed away Monday, April 27, 2009 at Doctor's Hospital in Dallas. She was born May 5, 1940, the daughter of Bill E. Byars and Dealie Purdy Byars. She married Leaford Walker on November 18, 1954. He survives.Mrs. Walker was a homemaker and owner operator of a beauty shop for many years. She was a member of Caney Baptist Church.Other survivors include - Children .......Roy Lee Walker and wife Brenda of Richardson....David Earl Walker and wife Patsy of Fairfield...Donna Cantreena Feagin and husband Ernest of Garland....Ronnie Dean Walker of Springfield, VASiblings ......Earnest Byers and wife Neva of Winnsboro....Stella Chase and husband Clarence of Dallas....Lawrence Byars and wife Judy of Canton....James Byars of WinnsboroGrandchildren .......Clayton Johnston, Ashley Walker, Amber Walker, Brady Walker and James Compton w/wife Kim.A Great-grandchild, Triston Compton.Many nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters - Billie Byars and Dorothy Byars, brothers - R.A. Byars, Clyde Byars, and Arthur Byars.**Aunt Lois - I love you. You never treated me like I was "married into the family" - you treated me like family! For that, I will always and forever appreciate you! Thank you! I love you!

Gilbert Neal Lunsford

Gilbert Lunsford, 63, Tyler TX. Services will  be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, December 22, 2006 in the chapel of Burks Walker Tippit Funeral Home with Pastor Sam DeVille officiating. Burial will  follow at  the Pine Springs Cemetery under the direction of Burks Walker Tippit Funeral  Directors. Family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 – 8p.m.  Thursday.Mr. Lunsford passed away  December 19, 2006 in Tyler TX.He was born December 6, 1943 in Quinlan, TX to the late B.N. and Pauline Greer Lunsford. He grew up in Sulphur Springs and had lived in Tyler since 1972. He worked for Hunsaker Truck Lease, Inc. for over 30 years. He was a Baptist. And he enjoyed his fishing.He is survived by his  wife, Kay Lunsford, Tyler TX; son, Neal Lunsford and wife Cathy, Tyler TX;3  daughters – Angie Osborn and husband Brent, Tyler TX; Sherrie Culpepper and husband Mike, Tyler TX; Nancy Fleming and husband Kenneth, Tyler TX. Grandchildren – Joshua Holden and wife Lisa, John Holden and wife Stephanie, Jenae Holden, Mathew Phillips, Jennifer Sims, Georgia Culpepper, Joey Fleming, Tyler Fleming, Rexana Lunsford and Alexis Lunsford.Great-grandchildren – Dakota  Davis, Daylan Holden and Hope Holden.Also survived by one brother, Billy  Lunsford, Sulphur Bluff TX; 3 sisters – Mary Joslin, Sulphur Springs TX; Bettie  Stacks, Mt. Pleasant TX; Margaret McCoy, Caldwell ID.Pallbearers will be Kenneth Fleming, Brent Osborn, Mike Culpepper, Joshua Holden, John Holden and Mathew Phillips. Honorary pallbearers are the employees and friends at Hunsaker Truck Lease, Inc.Memorials may be made to the Children’s Miracle Network at Mother Francis Hospital, Tyler TX.
