Time . . .

LORD, when I am afraid, I will trust in YOU. Psalm 56:3

It’s so easy to get caught up in “time”.

When time seems to scream, rant and rage.

When the demands of the day stomp their feet, pushing and prodding.

The struggle to stay focused for time with YOU, regardless of the time that shows on the clock, regardless of the demands of the day – the struggle is real.

And it’s easy to fall into that guilt trap.

Guilt for feeling rushed in time with YOU, guilt for not being about the business of the day.

I think about Martha and Mary.

My heart aches to be Mary, sitting at YOUR Feet, listening and learning from YOU.

And yet, my humanity is that of Martha.

YOU are GOD, the King of the universe.

GOD of all time, and space.

YOU can do anything YOU want to do – even bending time and events for my favor.

In allowing me to accomplish more in less time.

GOD, teach me how to align myself with YOUR perspective, so I can truly sort out what is important and what is not.

What needs my focus and attention, and what doesn’t.

Whatever I do, may it be in YOUR Name, and for value in YOUR Kingdom.

I do not want to do meaningless work, nor speak meaningless words.

LORD, please – teach me how to stay in constant and continual communication with YOU.

: Luke 10:41-42 – But the Lord answered her, “Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubled about many things, but one thing is necessary. Mary has chosen the good portion, which will not be taken away from her.”

  • LORD, teach me how to be a Mary in this Martha world.

: Hebrews 1:1-2 – Long ago, at many times and in many ways, God spoke to our fathers by the prophets, but in these last days He has spoken to us by His Son, Whom He appointed the Heir of all things, through Whom also He created the world.

  • LORD, open my ears that I may hear YOUR Voice, and my heart that I may understand YOUR Words.

: Psalm 32:8 – I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with My Eye upon you.

  • LORD, this is a Promise that I hold on to. Please, Dear LORD, please . . .
