(this pic is not my Daizy Mae - but she looked a lot like this)

Rick bought me a baby Jersey calf years ago.

She weighed about 250 lbs when he brought her home to me at 3 days old.

Daizy Mae.

She was my baby.

I raised her on a bottle, and graduated her to sweet feed.

Yes, she was spoiled rotten.

Just ask my kids. Lol.

Since we had 2 dogs outside in the pen next to her, she thought she was a dog. Lol.

She would run in her pen when they were running, and when they barked she would moo.

I would go into her pen and sit on the ground.

She would lay her head in my lap.

When I stood, she still wanted to be in my arms.

She played so much, had such a wonderful personality.

When she was about 6 months old, Rick woke me up about 2 a.m. with, "Daizy Mae is out."

I got up, pulled on my rubber boots and out I went.

Rather than come to me when I called her, she thought it was a fun time to play.

After an hour of chasing her, calling her, stomping my foot demanding that she come to me ...

finally, she obeyed, with head down and nudging me to love on her.

I got her back in the pen, secured the gate, turned around and Ricky Lee was standing there laughing loudly.

"WHAT?" I asked.

When he caught his breath, he pointed at the shadow on the ground.

In the full moon light, I saw my hair in the shadow - can we say Medusa?

Then, he started laughing all over again, motioning for me to look down.

"WHAT?! Stop laughing and tell me what is going on!"

He shook his head, laughing too hard.

I looked down.

Realized. I had my rubber boots on and a short t-shirt ... with my white panties fairly glowing in the moon light.

Add the hair style of chasing a Jersey calf at 2 a.m. ...

and well ... I have to admit I understood why he was laughing. LOL

Just thankful that we lived in the country with no close neighbors!
