Rick had just gotten a new job, we had just moved to a new town.

Took every dime we had just to get there and into a house.

Rick was to get paid that day

- and we were going to the grocery store after work.

But the kids were hungry for lunch.

I had 3 things in the house.

1/2 pound of hamburger meat,

1 can of cream of chicken soup,

and 3 slices bread.

So, I browned the meat, added the soup, toasted the bread

- and put the meat mixture over the bread.

I grew up with SOS

- but when the kids asked what was for lunch?

I said "M & J Stuff".

They asked what that was

- It stood for "Mandy & Joshua Stuff".

They ate it.

Loved it.

We OFTEN had it after that

- no matter what groceries we had in the house. LOL

Years later, our son called and asked,

"Momma, how do you make M & J Stuff?"

He had been telling his wife and kids about it

- how good it was.

His wife thought he was talking about SOS.

She made it

- it didn't taste right.

He HAD to know how to make it.

I told him.

Complete silence on the line.

Finally he said,

"You have been feeding me cream of chicken soup all these years?

Even though you know I detest it?"

🤣🤣🤣
