LORD, here I am – just as I am.
Wondering what to do with the day that is here.
Almost immobilized by the mistakes and missteps I have made in the past.
Not wanting to make more.
And yet, not wanting to waste the precious time of today, either.
Nothing specific pounds at the door to do, or anywhere to go.
Oh, there’s a list of a hundred or more things to do written down, with even more circling around in my head.
I am torn between tearing into this list, and just caving the day away.
My heart is heavy, my spirit grieves.
There is a bittersweetness in my soul.
My mind aches so much that it hurts – with thoughts, ideas, wonderings, fears and worries.
So, here I am – just as I am.
A mess.
LORD, please tune my heart, mind and soul to YOU – that I will know without question or doubt when YOU are giving me special guidance.
And when YOU don’t give that special guidance, please, help me just go in what I know, doing the next thing. Working on what is in front of me.
Concentrating on the awareness of YOUR Presence with me – that YOU walk with me, YOU talk with me.
No matter where I am, or what I am doing, or who I am with.
Please, accept this as an invitation to be in every aspect of my life.
To collaborate with me in all things.
To have YOUR Life merging with mine.
It is no longer I who lives, but CHRIST Who lives in me, and the life I now live in the flesh, I live by Faith in the SON of GOD, Who Loved me and Gave HIMSELF up for me.
LORD, help me be thankful for quiet days, and busy days.
Teach me to use these times of routine as opportunities to pray and to seek YOUR Face.
And when I am afraid, LORD, I trust in YOU . . . it’s all I can do.
: Colossians 3:23-24 – Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ.
- LORD, teach me HOW to do this.
: John 15:5 – I am the Vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in Me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing.
- LORD, keep me attached to YOU . . .
: Psalm 105:4 - Seek the Lord and His Strength; seek His Presences continually!
- YOU, O LORD, I seek.
