When I am afraid -

Published on 4 May 2024 at 12:37

I am learning a new perspective, a new habit.

Saying, “I trust YOU, LORD, when I am afraid.”

No matter what happens.

And these days, as a widow, I am more afraid than not.

The laundry list of what I am afraid of seems to grow by leaps and bounds.

BUT GOD – when I am afraid, I will trust in YOU, LORD of my life.

YOU are YOU – in all YOUR Power, and Glory.

YOU Love me – I cannot comprehend how much.

Just a little glimpse is how much I love our kids and grandkids, and to what lengths I will go to be there for them, to help them.

GOD, I want to see YOU in every situation.

Trusting YOU, LORD, with all my heart – and my life.

Leaning not on my own understanding – my understanding is like trying to smell the color 9!

Acknowledging YOU, and YOUR Sovereign control over my life, over the universe.

No matter where I am – YOU are already there.

No matter what I do – YOU are by my side.

No matter who I am with – YOU are there, too.

YOU see, YOU hear, YOU know.

YOUR Hand is One of Grace and Mercy – please, extend it to me today.

Keep me YOURS – through it all.

And please, stay with me.

: Psalm 63:2 – So I have looked upon YOU in the sanctuary, beholding YOUR Power and Glory.

: Isaiah 40:10-11 – Behold, the LORD GOD comes with might, and His Arm rules for Him; behold, His reward is with Him, and His recompense before Him. He will tend His flock like a Shepherd; He will gather the lambs in His Arms; He will carry them in His bosom, and gently lead those that are with young.

  • What a comfort to my aching heart are these words!

: Psalm 139:7-10 – Where shall I go from YOUR SPIRIT? Or where shall I flee from YOUR Presence? If I ascend to heaven, YOU are there! If I make my bed in Sheol, YOU are there! If I take the wings of the morning and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea, even there YOUR Hand shall lead me, and YOUR Right Hand shall hold me. If I say, “Surely the darkness shall cover me, and the light about me be night,” even the darkness is not dark to YOU; the night is bright as the day, for darkness is as light with YOU.

  • Thank YOU GOD for this promise. For the assurance and confirmation that I need so much during these changes of my life.
