The purpose and direction of this website & blog:

To document the joy & laughter of loving the world's greatest husband.

To share the pain & heartache of losing him in death.

To express my humor, sometimes dark and strange, that has emerged from the darkness of being a widow.

To be brutally honest during my pity parties and worst of times.

To smile and laugh through the sweetest memories.

And to meet the challenges of living beyond that moment that changed my world.

My reason for doing this website & blog:
The pages here are the contents of my heart and soul.

Shared for all the world to see, in the simple hope that it might touch another soul.
This is ME - in the most open and vulnerable way that I know how to be.
I can only hope that others will feel less alone in their journey through the muck and mire of life.

What you will find here:

In these pages you will read about:

*Our past & what life with Ricky Lee was like.

Our love, our laughter and our home with kids and grandkids.

*You will also read about my present.

My learning to live this life alone, as Rick's widow.

Navigating through the waters of loneliness and aloneness.

*You will find words about my future, too.

My hopes and dreams, my ideas and visions.

*And tangled up in it all -

the fears of a widow's heart and mind coming to the daily battle with Warrior's Blood.

*My experiences in growing older.

Not for the faint of heart!

But thankful for the opportunity for each day trip around the sun!

* My searching for fellow-travelers on this journey.

* A sharing of my insecurities.

We all have them!

*And a sharing of my accomplishments.

We all have these too!

* These are the mists in my memories.

* These are the many lessons learned as a widow.

Lessons that I am still learnING - heavy emphasis on the -ING part of that word!

Lessons that I strive to put into practice, so I don't have to go back around and repeat them,

* The loneliness of being a widow.

While I will try not to harp on this, it’s a real part of this journey in my life.

*The things I do to keep my mind, heart and hands busy -

genealogy, quilting, reading . . .

what I watch, where I go . . .

what I see - I love to take and share pictures, not a photographer, just a picture taker :)

My plant babies :)

Times with the kids and grandkids :)

Family & friends :)

Meeting strangers, too :)

*Hopes, dreams, ideas, and just basic thoughts as I drink my coffee!

What you won’t find here:

*Politics.

There are websites and blogs beyond all numbers that will take you down that road.

I won’t.

*Religion.

While I will include my relationship with God, I will not discuss the ins/outs of religion.

Again, there are websites and blogs for that - this isn’t one of them.
